My students need financial literacy materials such as a place value activity kit, a real working cash register, and a problem solving card bank to help them in the classroom with math and literacy.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Remember sitting and learning every subject in school one at a time? I am trying to incorporate many subjects into learning for my scholars.
I teach students of low, socio-economic status, of whom mostly never receive any further education once they leave my classroom at the end of the day.
My students are amazing students who work hard and try the best they can with the little materials that we have in the classroom. We have been making ends meet with what we have, but any materials would be greatly appreciated by my students and me. My goal is to have every student ready for the next grade and with donations, I feel like I can better accomplish my goal.
My Project
I asked for many books to be donated about math, so that the scholars can learn about money in literature as well as having extended activities and using the cash register, to be donated, along with money manipulatives to make a connection like Math in a Flash. The Math in a Flash set to be used with first graders, comes with many manipulatives like money, which will help the scholars understand the basics of how money is used daily. Another great manipulative is the place value chart, so the scholars can see where money stands as a value. The scholars will understand that we use money and literature on a daily basis for almost everything that we do.
Donating to my classroom will help my students with more hands-on materials to better help them achieve academic proficiency literacy dealing in a financial setting.
These students will have a better understanding using these materials which will help them succeed not only in my class, but in the feature.
