This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My second-grade students are eager to learn; they are ready with open minds. Our school is located in a predominately low-income area; however, we excel each year because of the way we engage our students. Because of our hard work and dedication, we are a National Blue Ribbon School! The teachers and students strive for excellence no matter what their circumstances. As a teacher, I encourage my students daily to be the best they can be in all areas. I won't settle for anything less than their best. When we as educators expect their best, the students are eager to please.
My Project
The Certified Educator in Personal Finance will provide me the professional development and training I need to work with my scholars as well as parent and community groups. This comprehensive program will allow me as a financial educator to work in a group setting to teach students to establish personal budgets, evaluate debt loads, set financial goals and develop plans of action. This Certification will ensure that I have the training and testing in education techniques, to further assist my scholars as well as parents on the elements of financial management and the various published content standards in financial literacy.
