Pre-K is a special place for children to learn how to get along with others while building self confidence and self esteem. They learn how to socialize with others, manage disagreements, and build key communication skills needed in the future.

It's hard for a four year old to sit and listen for long periods of time. That's why we learn through play! Our classroom materials are essential to our learning process. The materials we play with allow us to role play, reenact what we have learned, illustrate, create, build, rebuild, count, and manipulate water/sand flow. Sometimes we don't understand the purpose of an object so we play around and test our theories. Sometimes we'll think some more and try out a new ways to use our materials. We make observations and discuss what we notice. Through our discussions, we draw conclusions that help us to make sense of the world.
My Project
We are requesting a play cash register, flower shop playset and stemwrap to open a flower shop which will be a great addition to our dramatic play area. Students will be able to create their own flowers using the floral tape and gears. They can then sell them to their friends using the requested flower shop play set and cash register. Financial literacy really starts at a young age. I will be able to teach my students how to earn and spend your money in a smart way. The play register and money will allow my students to start comprehending how adults utilize money in their everyday life.
One of the most wonderful aspects of Pre-K is the idea of starting small.
This is the age group where we can introduce life long skills and the ability to recognize important emotions that will help enable them to become contributing citizens in the future.
