As a Special Education teacher, I work with students who need academic and behavior support. At my school, I am able to have a large percentage of students in the classrooms, unless a student requires accommodations for testing. I feel honored students feel comfortable enough to want to come to me and share a part of their day. I would like to offer additional tools for students when they are at school to continue their support needs.
In high school, new and exciting resources are welcomed for all students in the school to use!
There are times when students need additional resources to grasp the concepts or the task(s) being taught. Thank you for your time and interest in my students. I am working to be proactive with my students, school, and community to offer more hands-on ways to learn.
My Project
My students are high school students continuing to grasp real-world math concepts such as more versus less, counting, addition, gains and losses. These are the basic skills they need to master in order to expand their knowledge in financial literacy.
The materials in this project will enhance my students’ math skills through highly engaging and interactive activities.
The Money Mangement book will offer real-world math concepts taught beyond the classroom. The backless chair balls will allow a place for students to sit in the classroom that is comfortable for them. While learning these math concepts, I will be able to teach my students about saving and spending, how money is used to make purchases, and making good choices based on needs and wants.
