Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 26 awesome kindergarten students who are culturally diverse. Our school is a Title I school in Southern California where all students receive free meals. I have a group of amazing and deserving kids. They are learning from each other and about each other's culture.
My number one goal is to help all my students achieve skills they need to be successful in school and in life.
To capture their interests, I need resources to help make learning enjoyable!
My Project
Kindergartners are never too young to learn about financial literacy! In fact, it is the perfect time and place to introduce this very important subject to my students! My kiddos are learning how to read and count numbers which are the basic foundational skills to becoming financially literate. Therefore it is very important that I have the resources to help them grasp these concepts. The calendar math activity program and magnetic number chart will help my kindergartners build a solid foundation in number sense.
Teaching kids personal financial literacy early and throughout their educational career carries tangible benefits into their adult lives.
I want to help start my students on a path of financial responsibility. I know if we provide them with the right support, resources, and opportunities, they can experience success!
