My students need a cash register with a food scale to use for transactions during their grocery store study. We will also need a rug to make the area inviting.
My classroom consists of special needs and typically developed children in an inclusive classroom setting. They range from three to five year olds and participate in North Carolina's prekindergarten program that seeks to prepare them for when they enter kindergarten.
The children are always exploring and learning with everything they can get their hands on at school.
My children need materials to engage them and let them learn about the world around them. We are in a county where funding continues to be cut and teachers struggle to provide adequate materials to engage students. Preschool requires so many hands-on materials to gain their attention and we are continually buying more materials to meet the needs of the children.
My Project
We will use the cash register with a food scale, grocery cart, and dress up outfits to enhance our learning during our grocery store study. By having these items, the children will be able to re-enact real life scenarios that take place in a grocery store. We also need more theme-based materials such as a mailbox, Pet vet set, and a restaurant writing box to enhance our play studies.
Our students love to dress up and pretend and learn best through play!
We will use the collage materials and paint to create pictures of our own grocery stores and community scenes. Having all of these materials is so important to the development and growth of our Preschool students.
