Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in need of modern technology that is easily accessible. My students are learning about Financial Literacy through Chase Bank and need to have access to the various free applications that Android provides through Kindle Fire HD.
My students are now third graders.
If you have been following my page then you know last year I moved up with my students to second grade. Well it happened again, I am now in third grade with them! I must say they're an awesome bunch! However they attend a Title 1 school in Brooklyn, New York where all 26 of my third graders receive free breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately our school is in need of improvement and as a school we are struggling when it comes to enriching our students with the tools they need to succeed.
My Project
My students are requesting Kindles in the classroom to help navigate their way through applications such as Rich Kid, Smart Kid, Basic Spending, Saving and Investing and Zefty Virtual Bank Account to name a few. These apps will help my students track and manage allowance, set up mock checking and savings accounts as well as inform them how they can invest money at an early age. This is the type of learning they will benefit from their whole life!
This project is very important to my students because it can drastically change their lives by teaching Financial Literacy and helping them to see a way out of poverty.
I know that kids want to learn and have fun at the same time, so my job is to search for those lesson that will have an impact on them for life, you know the lessons they never forget. I hope that my students get to experience these life lessons with the help of Kindles, a Financial Literacy Grant and most of all Donors like you.
