My students come into the classroom with curiosity. They are very curious about the world around them, and they want to have something to contribute. Each of the students have their own voice, strengths, and ideas.
My students come from a mix of various backgrounds, including many ESL students.
Coming into second grade, the students going from being little kids to big kids. They are learning to be independent, to problem-solve, to apply their own learning, and to care for one another.
My Project
My students need tools and books to help them learn about financial literacy. In second grade we begin learning how to count coins and dollars. More importantly, they learn the value of a dollar and how to be responsible with their money.
These books and learning centers will help students learn about money in a meaningful way.
In the learning centers, students will learn how to add up their money, subtract spending, and find the balance. They'll learn to be wise with their money. With the books, students will learn about money around the world, how to invest money, and how money is used in our world. These skills will help students have a stronger financial literacy and help them with be wise their money life long.
