Mrs. Haag from Howard KS is requesting Books through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

Financial Literacy for Primary Age Students

My students need 25 books, games and manipulatives to enhance financial literacy.

My Students

Could you imagine growing up in one of the poorest counties in Kansas. My students are!

The students in our district are growing up watching friends and family who are unemployed or have a minimal wage.

Our free and reduced lunch rate is above average, and these students live in communities amongst the poorest in the state. They are in the center of our countries financial difficulties.

My Project

My Kindergarteners learn best through stories. I am requesting books in which characters portray scenarios of earning, raising money, and spending responsibly. I am also requesting hands on materials for them to practice identifying currency, and counting money. These hands on materials are the beginnings of financial literacy.

In the hard financial times that our nation faces, help me BAILOUT our kids.

We are all trying to make better financial choices, including our government. But I say lets start with the kids. It is up to us to help them overcome the difficulties that lay ahead of them.
