Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Money makes the world go round. My students need to understand the value of a dollar and comprehend the financial news in a way that is meaningful to them. My students need to be able to develop strategies so that they can invest, save and decipher economic indicators.
My students are middle school students who are eager and motivated to incorporate technology in their learning and class and home assignments.
They have minimal to no access to technology (computers, scanners, pads) outside of school. They enjoy doing computer and technology based assignments and work cooperatively to expand their knowledge in using software to enhance their projects.
My Project
My students deserve having access to the technological resources needed to learn and produce quality work in this technologically-driven society. Due to lack of funds and resources, my class is not equipped with all the equipment needed for my students to achieve optimal assignments and a mode to share their awesome work with others. They have a strong drive to create amazing work. By having an iPad in the classroom, they will be able to discover new ways of learning the value of a dollar and comprehend the financial news in a way that is meaningful to them using financial applications on the iPad.
Donations to my request will make a direct impact on my students because they will be able to develop a cognitive awareness regarding their role in becoming financially responsible young adults.
