My Students

I know every teacher thinks this, but seriously, my class is extra special. They are so incredibly smart and diverse. Best of all, they are unbelievably eager to do their best and push themselves. They want to please me and their parents. Most importantly, they want to do well for themselves.

I’m so grateful for each and every one of my kiddos!

My Project

It is never too early to learn about financial literacy! My students are young first graders beginning to grasp early math concepts such as more versus less, counting, addition, and number recognition. These fundamental skills need to be mastered in order to increase their knowledge in financial literacy.

The materials in this project will enhance my students’ math skills through hands on and engaging and learning opportunities.

The cash register allows them to play with money, purchasing items in exchange for set amount of dollars and coins. They will have tangible proof of the savings that can take place. My students will even have opportunities to earn rewards based on their saving habits.
