Imagine starting over every few years: new school, new state, new standards of learning. This is the reality my students face. My Title I school serves 100% military families. My students come to me with varying levels of knowledge in all subjects, and it is my job to provide them with the tools to be successful.
Thoughtful, compassionate and hilarious are just a few words that describe my classroom of students who come from military homes.
My students come to me with a variety of skills, strengths, and challenges. The goal of my classroom is to meet every student where they are and help them grow both academically and socially.
My Project
My inclusive classroom needs access to materials that will promote financial literacy! The materials in this project will provide all my students with materials to use at their individual level! We need a cash register and play money for our STEM projects. I want my students to learn how to make a budget and how to spend money within their budget. They will buy supplies they need to create their STEM projects. The money will be turned in to one student who is acting as a 'cashier'.
By completing projects and working with play money, my students will learn real-world skills they can apply in the future.
The books requested in this project will provide my students literature about students just like them who earn money and how they manage it!
