My Students
My wonderful students are curious, inquisitive, and ready to tackle fourth and fifth grade! We are becoming super problem-solvers and passionate about learning. Each and every one of us is special, and we work day in and day out to foster a supportive, loving community. We challenge each other to become better and constantly grow as super scholars. We encourage each other to discover new strategies, topics, facts, and more! We push each other to be the best that we can be and love to lift each other up.
My goal is to provide my students with a school year they will cherish and one that instills excitement and positivity in all that is yet to come for them!
Last year was a crazy and challenging year as my first year teaching, and there is still so much to learn. I never realized how expensive it is to create an inclusive, engaging, and student-centered classroom. I hope my classroom feels safe, warm, and welcoming for my incredible students. I want to ensure each and every student feels like they belong and knows that they are seen.
My Project
These materials will help develop our classroom economy reward system. This will help our class gain financial literacy through real world experiences! Students will earn money for “working” their classroom jobs, being a good citizen, showing kindness and respect to others, and working hard. They will practice counting money, making a budget, shopping, and making change. Throughout the year, as we learn more about financial literacy, we will introduce paying rent, “life happens” scenarios, job bonuses, and more!
This is an engaging way to make learning about money meaningful to my fourth and fifth graders.
The skills they will learn with this hands on system will stay with them in years to come!
