Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are outstanding! They are hardworking and have persevered through the most challenging times. I am consistently impressed with their work ethic and desire to achieve their best. My students are the type of kids who give teenagers a good reputation.
My Project
My students recommended a class equivalent to "family game night" for financial literacy and I realized that this educational interaction is exactly what students need right now.
I believe financial literacy is one of the most important classes for high school students and I've also witnessed students eager to interact with each other.
The only financial board game I currently have is Monopoly (and I already use this to teach capitalism, and with modified rules, socialism, and communism). It's always a huge hit and I would like to see students interacting and learning through board games (instead of logging more screen time with digital games). I am hoping to get the games Act Your Wage, Snake Oil, Cover Your Assets and Pay Day.
