My Students
My students are from a low-income, rural community. About half of our students are from low-income families. I would love to have books and games to build financial literacy in my classroom. Financial literacy is a vital part of a student's success after high school. Being able to understand financial literacy will help students to better understand finance and savings. The material will also help students to improve financial skills and therefore help them to become financially fit adults in the working world.
My Project
My students need financial literacy games to help them gain a greater understanding of finance, savings, spending, budgeting, credit cards, housing, and insurance. I want to ensure that when our students leave high school they have a better understanding of finance and how to be financially successful.
The games will give my students the opportunity to learn about finance and challenges that come up in life.
The games will allow the students to connect it to the material they have learned in class. The opportunity to play out the financial literacy lessons in a safe classroom environment will allow students to gain critical thinking skills when it comes to personal finance as adults.
