My Project

I've started a classroom economy system to teach basic financial literacy skills through an earn and reward system. Students earn a salary through class jobs. Applying real-world situations like bills, fines, and bonuses, my students will learn how to manage their money accordingly.

Because most of my students come from low income households and are unable to afford extra treats, snacks, or fun items, they will be able to use their "salaries" from class jobs to purchase these items from our class store.

We need Rice Krispie Treats, cookies, chips, and crackers.

I have incorporated our school's core values into "bonuses" to teach them positive character traits. My goal is to teach them that work ethic, being kind, and a little financial knowledge can bring rewards.
