My students are amazing, marvelous, and challenging on many levels. They come to school excited, eager to experience an exciting lesson. I often refer to them jokingly as “challenging customers” that refuse to accept second best. As I try my best to provide excellent customer service to my clientele, I find that it is never enough to just teach.
It is a journey to discover how best to serve every single one of my students and get them ready for college and for life, and I am enjoying the ride.
Our school is a Title I school in Atlanta where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students are facing many socioeconomic challenges that hinder their academic success. As I observe them interact with one another, enthused about a lesson, I regain my conviction that a future is possible and achievable for all my students.
My Project
A donation to this project will bring my students one step closer to understanding how to financial apps and do financial literacy research. They will learn about how to be financially savvy and learn the skills they need to manage their finances as they go out into the job market and the real world.
This iPad will allow them to utilize apps such as 'Bankaroo' that will teach them about savings, money and its value in a subtle way.
Your contributions will afford my students an opportunity to help them prepare to be financially savvy, and successful. I imagine a set of Ipads with students working in different groups learning more about their money; the one they have today and the one they will earn tomorrow. With your help, they will be on the path to becoming Financial-App-a-Listas.
