Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

RHS redefines what the high school experience should be and is an incredibly special place. All students have the same goal, which is to overcome any barrier keeping them from being successful. The staff's priority is to guide students to reach their goals and passions and recognize their true potential. The Class of 2023 was cut short of their freshman year experience due to the pandemic that took place in 2020. They have overcome the battles of not only transitioning to high school but also dealing with the challenges of virtual learning and transitioning back and forth to a hybrid and in-person setting. Our A-G college prep curriculum, AP classes, and concurrent enrollment opportunities aid our students in learning how to advocate for their future and take advantage of every opportunity. If I had to describe my students in one word, it would be ambitious. Our school serves low-income, underrepresented students who work tirelessly regardless of any limitations that are set to stop them. They continue to push boundaries and excel past expectations.

Help us continue building a college-going culture on campus and encourage students to seek higher education by supporting our Financial Aid Week!

Every year the college access program Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) hosts a financial aid week which is a week full of activities, workshops, and presentations meant to inform students of their options, increase financial literacy, and help them learn how to pay for college!

During this week, we give away prizes to encourage students to participate and learn more about the opportunities available to them. The Ipad and AirPods will be used for a drawing at the end of Financial Aid Week to encourage students to learn more about financing their college education and show them that college is affordable for low-income students!
