My Students

I am pleased to introduce you to my amazing 6th-grade students who have done their best to become resilient through this unpredictable Pandemic.

The majority of my students are on the autism spectrum or have some other learning disability, with over 1/3 coming from low-income households; however, we choose to focus on all of their fantastic abilities (which are many)!

My students have very inquisitive minds and love to learn using hands-on activities. They are teaching me knew ways of thinking "outside of the box".

My goal is to be able to teach in a manner that every student, regardless of their abilities, can relate to and learn from. I have found that many of them thrive with visual and tactile learning. Our classroom is blessed to have a Chromebook available for each student to use to enhance their educational experience.

I hope you have enjoyed getting a small glimpse into the lives of my extraordinary students!

My Project

GERMS are a VERY REAL fear for a lot of my students. Having a place for them to keep their personal school supplies will help to alleviate a lot of anxiety. Being able to provide this little safe place for their beloved items and projects will bring a HUGE SMILE to their faces!

The unpredictable nature of the pandemic has increased my student's stress levels, which has resulted in a greater desire to keep their personal items separated from their peers.

These cubbies will help to ease their minds and alleviate a bit of anxiety.
