My Students

My school is located in a small, diverse community in West Virginia. The students in my classroom receive free breakfast and lunch because they come from low-income households. The economic needs of my students are very high, and the life-experiences of my students are very unique.

I have a wide variety of diverse learners in my classroom.

My students are eager to come to school every day to learn and try new things. They are active, hands-on learners ready to take on the world. They love collaborating with their peers.

My Project

This year, my school has integrated ways to promote technology in the classroom. Each student has an iPad. We use all types of educational apps every single day in multiple subjects. My students figure out math problems on a WhiteBoard app on their iPads. My students' also e-mail me their spelling homework each week.

The only thing holding us back from becoming a paperless classroom is a document/book scanner, which I can scan homework assignments and/or chapter readings and send these materials directly to my students' through an iPad.

If I can implement this in my classroom, I will never need to print off a class set of papers again! No more losing homework sheets. It will always be there!
