My Students

Engaged learning is key for student mastery. When students are engaged and vested in what is being taught, they retain the concepts better. They also enjoy sharing their learning.

I love teaching sixth graders.

They are always thinking and questioning. Our goal is to take our learning to the creation level where learning sticks longer. We work hard and are very creative. Our interests are wide and keep classroom discussions lively and exciting. We are composed of a variety of learner styles and abilities. We support each other and help each other do their best.

My Project

This proposal is for a purchase of an iPod touch. The students will use this device and software to film, edit and publish their work. It will be presented through our film festival for viewing.

Through the Art form of Film Production, students will be able to express what they have learned.

By using this art form, the students will demonstrate their learning through various higher levels of learning including creation and synthesis to name a few.

They will create the scripts to guide their project and communicate their learning through analyzing, editing and the critique of their work through the process known as Critical Friends. These are essential skills to learn and can be applied with other projects not just the film making art form.
