Students are the purpose of the classroom and the timeless amount of effort and energy we as teachers put into our work. These young and innovative members of our society are the next generation of scientists, agriculturists, medical professionals, and industry workers that will maintain, develop, and grow our world.
The students in an agricultural class at our school are a huge part of our community both through service projects or as employees and entrepreneurs - they are the next generation leaders.
The students within the program are enthusiastic and purposeful in building their background knowledge in the field of agriculture, Ag mechanics, and/or with important life skills. We are counting on these young adults to come back and enrich our town or to explore this world and become effective leaders of tomorrow.
My Project
It is important to have the proper tool for the job when working in a shop setting. Buffalo offers shop classes such as: Power Mechanics, Farm Shop I and Farm Shop II courses to students enrolled. This will be my first year here at BHS and I am hoping to enhance the shop learning environment by rejuvenating the tool room and what there is to offer.
Due to restricted budgets and lack of tools, I am looking to improve upon or obtain more tools for the shop.
Several tools or shop items need replaced. We will have STEM projects and more hands on and project-based activities this year. These will take a large portion of the shop budget. Many tool sets are incomplete, so in order to give students the best opportunity and functionality of the shop, I am setting a goal to fill the tool box. Thank you for helping me do so!
