Students at my school come from a working-class neighborhood that is very well integrated. They are every color of the rainbow and come from multiple backgrounds. One thing they have in common is that many of their families are working multiple jobs and having trouble making ends meet.
Teachers, counselors, and other staff members frequently purchase basic need items for students who are not able to receive them from their families.
This school uses a program of catching students doing the right thing. There is an ongoing conversation about "being a bucket filler" by doing good things. They receive incentive "bucks" for good behavior and deeds.
I want my students to have the same fun, exciting and wonderful experiences I had when I was in school. School should be fun and safe for all students to learn.
My students love our flexible seating with our bean bag chairs. Our chairs are looking a little sad after 3 years of being used. We are in need of refills beans for our bag.
Students will continue to use these bean bag chairs for flexible seating.
Students enjoy using them in story time, relaxing with a book, and sitting around the room working with our students. These bean bags help the students feel comfortable and relaxed in the classroom. Learning at school is as fun as at home with these bean bag chairs. Let’s fix up our chairs with refill beans.
