My elementary school is a wonderful hidden gem nestled in the hills of Knoxville, Tennessee! Students here come from a fiscally diverse background. We serve grades K-5 and have over 700 students.
We are a rural school that serves students from many different backgrounds.
Amherst is predominantly Caucasian with a large Hispanic population as well. We also serve a large population of special needs students - I am hopeful that this project will enable me to reach both of these demographics!
My Project
Help me fill up my classroom library! These titles will be used in my music classroom at Amherst Elementary.
I love to use literature in my music lessons - students enjoy being read to and books are a great resource for the music classroom!
These will be used in my lessons as well as be available for students to peruse during centers! Some of the topics include the Symphony Orchestra, vocal music and conducting, Peter and the Wolf by Prokofiev, Do Re Mi and music reading, Johann Sebastian Bach's life and history, and an introduction to the ballet "Sleeping Beauty".
