Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher, I have the privilege of being in a career in which I can help fill others, and be equally filled in return.
My students are kind, curious, open, and excited to learn. They are generous and thoughtful to everyone around them. They think creatively and express themselves well through art and writing.
My class this year welcomes and enjoys challenges. They continue to grow in their stamina and self-confidence. When they don’t know something right away, they use the sentence frame, “I don’t know yet, but what I do know is____.” When they show themselves that they can contribute some piece of knowledge about the topic, they light up.
I love seeing them feel this boost of confidence. They harness this power of not knowing “yet”, apply growth mindset every day, and improve their communication and collaboration skills. They truly embody our simple class motto, “Work hard, be kind.”
These children are flexible in their learning, and embrace the newest technologies available within our district. Their adaptability and the resulting growth is amazing to witness and help facilitate!
My Project
At the CUE conference, there will not only be workshops and sessions, but events where educators from all over will have the opportunity to communicate and collaborate together.
The benfit of receiving the freshest, most up-to-date tools, resources, and information is invaluable for any educator.
It would truly be a gift to pass on to my students and colleagues.
In this modern time of ever-evolving technologies, attending this conference would help me stay on the pulse of how to best support my students.
With this conference and one-to-one Chromebooks in our classroom, my students and I will be ready to join in on the most cutting-edge, educational resources available!
