Help me give my students educational activities that we download, print, cut, and laminate ourselves. We also need the ink and lamination sheets to complete this project.
Our students have one or more disabilities that negatively impact their ability to effectively express their own wants, needs, ideas, and desires. We teach our students in whole and small groups with two paraeducators in our rooms. Our students are aged 13-18, and don't let their differences get in the way of their success and growth.
Every day we encourage reading, hands-on learning, and use materials to continue making progress and smashing IEP goals.
Our students are eager to learn and demonstrate their knowledge, and they require many different types of activities and materials to remain engaged and continue to comprehend the information, requiring various levels of supports - including tons of visuals.
The students require repeated exposure to materials, prompts, models, and opportunities to move. The majority of our students are lacking the foundational skills required to make educational progress in the general education classroom without extreme modifications, so we do our best to meet them halfway, challenging them with modified curriculum at their own levels daily and again nightly in homework. Visuals are a necessity for all of my students, whether they be to aid in comprehension, illustrate proper placement for regrouping, or to manage behaviors.
My Project
This is a project focusing on task cards, and vocational skills for job training. In order to utilize the items we are requesting, we need to download them, print them, cut them, laminate them, and then assemble the items. Each task takes a lot of time and dedication, but the final products are beyond worth the time and energy. My students use these items as job training, to complete orders using actual visuals of the items, or to restock items such as sodas, cleaning supplies, sorting where items go at home or at work, school, etc. These items will continue encouraging my students by teaching them brand new skills and by teaching them new techniques to continue working on the skills they have been previously exposed to.
