Help me give my students Magnetic Math Activity Tins and the Touch and Read Phonics Match, as well as math, literacy, and science file folder activities.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are challenged with learning on a daily basis. They need someone who is willing to go that extra mile to let them learn just like others are fortunate to do.
My amazing students are all students with autism.
They are each very different, but all have some social and communication skill deficit. Every day, our brains understand the things we see, smell, hear, taste, touch, and experience. But when someone's brain has trouble interpreting these things, it can make it hard to talk, listen, understand, play, and learn. This is the challenge that my students face each and every day.
My Project
The students in my class all have a variety of different needs and abilities. I have 2 non-verbal students as well as others with limited verbal skills. We meet these needs by splitting up into small groups for focused math and reading work, including independent work. During independent work, we need to have activities that keep all of our students interested while still allowing them to learn skills from what they are doing. The Magnetic Math Tins and Touch and Read CVC word kits I requested will allow us to bridge language barriers and make learning fun!
We believe that all of our students are capable of learning math, reading, and science, and we make sure to let them know how proud we are of their successes every day.
My students continue to use the same file folders over and over again. They need educational materials that are engaging for them in order to keep them wanting to learn. The students will love seeing new Language Arts and Math file folders and they will be so excited to work on them. The students will have access to fun addition, subtraction, science and much more. There will be no stopping them.
