Help me give my students tablets that can be used to support distance-based learning instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic. These base-model tablets will allow students to access their learning portals where cloud-based instruction occurs daily!

All you need is fifteen minutes in my school building to understand how extraordinary West scholars truly are! Our students are a vivacious, brilliant innovative group ranging in age from 3 to 13 — and their diverse backgrounds and experiences weave a beautiful tapestry that creates a beautiful school community that is affirming, welcoming, and safe. Our school parents volunteer their time in our classrooms, help build sets for school plays on the weekends, arrange breakfasts for the teachers during high-stress times, and so much more.
Title 1 school pNo family should have to put their child’s learning on hold because of their household income in the midst of a global pandemic.
For our children, we are willing to pack extra lunches, go to weekend football games, tutor after school, and much, much more. The one thing they truly need is access to the 21st century learning resources required of distance learning during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Without a basic device such as a tablet, phone, or a laptop, instruction has all but come to a halt in the homes of scholars that need consistent instruction the most. Without daily instruction, scholars who are significantly behind cannot receive their learning interventions and live instruction, furthering the opportunity gap and academic divide which exists on lines of socioeconomic status. By funding a tablet, you have just put school instruction back into the life of one child.
Families shouldn’t have to decide which of their children will receive an online education because of technology shortages within the household.
