Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I now have the privilege to teach and inspire our youngest students! I teach 20 of the sweetest, hard-working PreKindergarten kids you'll ever met! I have 16 boys and 4 girls. They all have the sweetest smiles! We are a Title I school that prides itself on making sure that all students know they can succeed. All of our children are eligible to participate in the free lunch and breakfast program. My students are kindhearted and are determined to do their best every single day!
My Project
I am requesting a variety of Fiesta themed items to create a wonderful Fiesta dramatic play center in our prek classroom. Paper picado, bright tissue paper flowers, and pretend tacos will give my students the opportunity to experience Fiesta in our classroom. The students will run Fiesta booths, such as making and selling tacos. They will also celebrate the culture with bright colorful decorations. We will use our cash register in the booths to tie in money. We will also read Dragons Love Tacos to incorporate literature. This dramatic play unit will build social skills and help make our classroom rich with vocabulary.
