I teach a wonderful group of sixth-grade students in a high needs school in Charlotte, North Carolina. About 60 percent of the students at my school receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many students do not come prepared to class and it is very disheartening to me.
My students come in eager to learn with the materials that we have provided to them.
The teachers at our school go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure every child's need is met. The teachers want students to be successful and ready to learn every day.
My Project
The 6th grade Bears team will be taking the new 6th grade students on a field trip scheduled to visit Linville Caverns and Grandfather Mountain. The trip will take approximately 3 hours by bus to reach our destination. The students will need to wear name tags in order to be able to identify our students among other schools present. The students will most likely be hungry and thirsty during our bus trip. We, the teachers would like to be able to give all of the students a healthy and nutritious snack during the ride to and from our destination. Students will be given a variety of chips, gold fish, cheez its, skittles and starbursts.
