Paris a 10th grader led this project in our Digital Media Class. Paris was originally proposed a field trip to Sony when she realized Apple was close to school and located at the Houston Gallaria. Her excitement was led by a simple question " can we shop at the same time?".
My Digital Media class was tasked to brainstorm and research ideas that will change their lives if they were funded. Each student was required to brainstorm an idea, have it approved, research every aspect of the idea, develop a presentation for the class, then vote on the project they would like to be submitted for funding. The class originally started with 24 ideas, Paris idea was one of the few students project that won the class vote.
Paris win tasked her to continue her research on Apple. The class was able to team up giving Paris a little help. Paris mapped the bus route, contacted Apple and obtained a quote from the bus barn.
Apple Field Trip is an unforgettable learning experience. During the hands-on session, the student will learn to work as a team as they bring stories to life visually, express themselves musically, get started with coding, or even help inspire social change. They will have the opportunity to take their imaginations to new heights using Apple products.
Our idea is to take our class on a field trip to an Apple store because Apple is one of the biggest growing tech company as of 2017 and they teach how to bring stories to life with video and music. Apple also teach coding and allow us to get hands on with a robot right at the Apple store. Since Apple is not able to come to us, they have a way for us to come to them. We want to learn more about different technology then just a PC.
How will we be a leader with our teachers help; by working together to make sure everything we need is taken care of like placing orders, scheduling for us to go on the trip to Apple and of course we will need enough adults just to have the authority figures in the room to help us through our day to day problems. We will develop power points to show incoming freshman and parents all the exciting things we did and how technology is important.
Why is this important to our school and community; This trip is important to our school and community because it will show us what more we can do with computers and what we do figure out we can use to make the school better and display different things on the televisions around the school and create new technologies to use and help us in the classroom. Apple will be able to teach us about robots and we can learn to either improves or make robots that can be able to help us in our everyday life but can also help our community with new technologies for example when a crime happens in our community we can figure out a new way to try and prevent crime from happening as much as we can.
