I am a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school and my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are a typical variety of middle school students, including Special Education students.
Since we are in a high poverty school, my students don't always have the materials that help them best for learning. This is why they need you.
Some of our students never get to leave their home town. When schools plan trips, they are giving them the opportunity to explore. The trip to Pigeon Forge will include Wonder Works, Alcatraz of the East Museum, Ripley's Aquarium, and Dollywood.
Students look forward to trips to enhance their learning.
Wonder Works is an interactive science museum created for their curious minds. Alcatraz of the East Museum shows crime throughout the history of the United States. Ripley's Aquarium will enhance their science unit on animal adaptations. Our last stop will be Dollywood, which is rich with culture, music, and the use of science and math in their rides.
