Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My athletes are in a kindergarten through eighth-grade school located in an urban district. Our school serves 100% free breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is served in the classroom, and students do not switch classrooms much at the younger grades. Most of my students are from Spanish-speaking households.
My students need to be active and moving while learning.
Their learning with technology should be hands on. Instead of wondering what they could do, it would be great for my students to have the materials to be "can do" people.
My Project
This year we are trying to do a fun field day and carnival. We want all the students to have fun outside and enjoy foods and drinks while they play and enjoy the outside weather after a long year of learning. It would be great to have a Keurig to make hot chocolate and other fun drinks while the students are outside. It is also great for any one that we can come to get and visit to be able to offer coffee or hot chocolate.
My students thrive on music all day long and want to hear it outside too.
During our field day and carnival we would love to be able to have a durable radio we can hook up to something to play music so the students can let loose, laugh and have fun.
To keep our students hydrated besides fun yummy beverages we would like to get those big Gatorade containers for water. This way students would have water available when they are playing outside. With water outside we will be able to keep the students outside and enjoying more of the day.
