My Students

I teach 6th grade physical science and Astronomy as an elective at an inner-city school. My school may not have tons of funding but we have the scholars that want to make a difference in the world.

My scholars are curious and kind and love to learn.

They want to expand their knowledge by pushing themselves to read and build and create.

I want to support them in any way that I can and to show them that learning is fun and enjoyable.

My Project

Many students suffer from anxiety when they are in school. One way to help students feel successful is by having fidget toys available for them to use.

I want to have fidgets in my classroom to support the mental health needs of my students.

In my classroom, I have a restorative space for students to use when they are feeling overwhelmed with emotions or anxiety while school.

Being able to keep a variety of sensory toys for students to use in my classroom would be able to be beneficial to their recovery from learning in a pandemic and with constant change in their lives.
