The students in my classroom are every diverse from many standpoints including various learning abilities and disabilities, socioeconomic backgrounds, and cultures. My students are in a Title 1 school where 100% receive free or reduced lunch. Many of my students along with the students at my school speak English and Spanish, however there are some who only speak Spanish and other various languages.
My students require more hands on learning and materials that meet their various developmental stages, learning styles and learning abilities.
Many of my students are below grade level. They often need extra materials, or supplies to help them participate in school.
My Project
The fidget bands, balls, and fidget manipulatives will help my students wrangle in their fidgety behavior during whole group, small group, and while they are working at their desks. There are several students who have a hard time focusing due to various reasons. Research and professional experience has shown that giving students something they can fidget with their hands or put their feet on the bands to fidget with. This helps each student to receive that sensory input they are looking for.
The fidget supplies will help my students focus more, while controlling the urge to fidget.
This will help them become more successful, while controlling the urge they receive to move around or play with whatever they can get their hands on.
