This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

“Mrs. D is our school mom!” I hear that phrase at least once a week. My classroom community has a family feel, and my students know that they are loved unconditionally.

I am currently the proud teacher of 25 second graders.

As our year closes, I’m looking forward to looping with them next year and teaching them third grade. I’m excited about the possibility of transforming my room to prepare them for third grade, the year that they will have multiple district assessments, statewide standardized tests, and more academic rigor.

My Project

The addition of Bouncy Bands to my classroom will help my students focus, as they move their feet. Mental stimulation is directly related to physical stimulation, so these bands will help my students stay on task and retain more knowledge. Bouncy Bands have been clinically proven to relieve anxiety, stress, frustration, and boredom. I am excited to add them to my third-grade classroom as a tool to help my students focus. Fidgeting feet will, indeed, help us focus on our academic and social-emotional goals. We appreciate the support of our donors. Thank you, in advance, for helping us achieve our goal!
