My students are always willing and eager to learn. To ensure that they are learning and having fun, I want to make sure they have the things they need. My desire is to create a learning environment that is safe and student friendly. Each child in my classroom has their own unique story to share, regardless of their background or academic potential. Together, with your help, we can support each student's abilities and watch them flourish throughout the school year!
My Project
Many have heard about the fidget spinner craze in schools. Basically, fidgets are self-regulation tools that are used to help students deal with their emotions in a healthy and productive way. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, textures, and are often referred to by name, such as stress balls and tangles. I am also wanting to get a exercise ball chairs for my students to use while taking notes. This will help some students who have a hard time focusing, but still allows them to stay in their seat.
Manipulating a fidget provides the tactile stimulation the mind is craving, which can calm the child and allow them to stay on task.
With these tools, students will have the opportunity to focus more of their attention on their learning assignments, listening in whole group, and allow them to move while they complete their task.
The greatest thing in life is to see a child's smile, to hear a child's laugh, and to know you impacted the way a child feels.
