My students need sensory stimuli, stress balls, wobble cushions, bouncy chair fidget bands, and flexible chair balance ball seating to help stay focused.
My students receive free hot breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Many of my students are English Language Learners. They come from households where English is a second language. At home, the English language is rarely spoken, making it challenging for my students to learn and practice the English language. My classroom also services students with disabilities such as children with autism, ADHD, and speech or language impairments. The classroom is a place for these children to feel safe and accepted.
That is my mission every day as a special education teacher.
My Project
One of the biggest challenges my students face is staying focused. Due to their various disabilities, they have difficulty concentrating and staying on task. My students need to frequently expend energy while learning.
I am requesting these flexible seating and sensory stimulating items to help my students focus.
My students are energetic and sometimes have difficulty channeling their energy in a constructive way.
The flexible bands, wobble cushions, and balance balls will help my students to stay focus while seated. It gives the students an opportunity to move without being disruptive. The stress balls and fidget toys will allow my students to quietly relieve stress without tapping, making noise etc.
