My students need alternative seating. Our school year goes till the end of June, longer than any other school in Memphis, and the kids get very fidgety. The stool and Bouncy Bands will help them focus.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing! I teach at a Title l school in the northeast part of Memphis. These children work hard at school with an extended school day that runs from 8:00 to 4:30 to help bridge learning gaps. I am always amazed by my students' creativity and interest in learning and being their best selves.
With an extended school year and extended school day, our kids get fidgety.
This is why they need alternative seating. The kids beg to sit in the different seats. They focus better and participate more in class when given opportunities to sit in a different type of chair.

My Project
My students need alternative seating to stay focused during the long hours of our extended day. We have one stool and 12 bands that are shared in our middle school of 326 kids, and we need another stool and Bouncy Bands so that others will have an opportunity to use them. My kids beg to sit in the alternative chair, and I notice that they participate more and pay better attention in class when sitting there.
During our 9-hour school day, my students get fidgety.
The Bouncy Bands and stool will help my students focus, especially my students with attention difficulties. Every day I get asked by multiple kids if they can sit in the chair today. Your donation would help encourage our kids' learning.
