My Students
My students need me to help them with strategies for learning, but what they don't know is that I need them to make me better.
I am a special education teacher for an elementary school.
While our school has some technology, that technology is shared among our 400-plus students. When my students need to use computers, we are forced to give them back when a classroom needs them. My students are smart and funny. They are eager to learn and just need extra support to help them get there.
My Project
I teach a variety of learners, with a variety of needs. My students need "fidget" toys, like the kinetic sand to help them stay focused and engaged in their learning. The other items that I am requesting are really a wide variety of needs for my classroom. My students need notebooks and binders for their interactive reading journals. They need the place value magnetic blocks to help with hands on a visual learning for math. I need pencils and pens to provide to my students because for some reason they disappear!
The donations for this project will allow me to meet the needs of my learners and to help with behavior management. Many of these items are unrelated but are in desperate need in order for me to do continue to do my job.These items will change the way my students are able to learn and will enable them to have some control of their impulsivity.
