I want to create a space for my students that is happy and gives them a voice. A place where every child can find a place where they can work comfortably. When you are working on a project, reading a book, or learning something new do you like to sit in a hardback chair at a desk, or would you prefer to get comfy on a couch or your favorite chair?
With so many students with diverse needs including ADHD, learning disabilities, and short attention spans, it is essential to provide my students with a classroom that fits their learning style and gives them a daily opportunity to choose where they can work best.
My students are in school for 6.5 hours a day. In this age of technology, students come into our classrooms with their energy busting at their seams! This project will help allow students to choose a space to work where they are comfortable. This movement will help students zero in on their tasks at hand, instead of letting their minds wander far away from them.
