My diverse group of kindergarten students came into my classroom at a variety of different ability levels. They are full of energy and an eagerness to explore new skills and concepts. In order to differentiate my instruction and bridge the gap between ability levels to meet the needs of all learners, my classroom has become incredibly tech savvy during center time. They never cease to amaze me with what they can do, given the appropriate and supplemental materials to investigate the world around them.
My Project
Kindergarteners are some of the youngest learners in an elementary school. Flexible seating has been proven to benefit learners by providing them with choice, physical movement, comfort, sensory input, and plain and simple fun.
Kindergarteners have an endless supply of energy and flexible seating can provide them with the sensory input to exert their energy while also partaking in educational tasks.
Balance balls are one of the best flexible seating options as they allow students the freedom to wiggle, balance, and bounce while learning. The chair design will keep the balls from rolling but still allow for movement and bouncing. Wobble stools will let kids wiggle in their spot while maintaining contact with the floor.
