My students are eager to learn. They come in every day excited and ready to face the daily challenge of learning and growing their minds and abilities. They might be nonverbal, but they clearly communicate their needs and wants to me for sensory input materials through the communication devices that we use every day.
I want my classroom to be where I am pushing my students to grow and reach their maximum potential.
They can do so much. I truly believe in each one. I am teaching these students, but they are also teaching me each and every day. My students need to have things taught to them in a variety of ways. They work best when they have exciting items to work for and to use for sensory breaks. I know they work so much harder when they have something meaningful to work towards!
My Project
With the use of all of these sensory items, my students will be able to use fidgets to meet their sensory needs. When this happens, I am able to teach them and keep them engaged longer; therefore, they continue to grow their amazing minds!
My nonverbal special needs students are constantly bringing me their communication devices asking for bubbles and squeeze balls and have a constant need and want for these materials.
My students need new items such as a bubble tube and fidget items to motivate them and to help them get their wiggles out. The bubble tube will be an amazing area for them to be able to really focus on the sensory needs. They can focus on the bubbles and have their sensory needs met.
So many of my students just need to have special time devoted to meeting these sensory needs. With all of these items, they will then be able to come back into the class ready to focus. They are in constant need of breaks during their hard work because they give 110% all day. My students learn in such a different way but have so much to offer and show. With new sensory items, they can have something exciting to work for as well as have something educational that they can use to learn new concepts.
I want my students to continue to grow and learn each day. My students will be able to use these items in small group rotations throughout the entire school day as well as when they just need an extra break!
