My Students

My students are awesome! They have a desire to gain knowledge and skills. On a daily basis they practice making connections between the subject of science and the real world. In addition, they learn the importance of math and language in successful scientific undertakings.

I love when my students go off on a tangent to delve deeper into a topic.

I love the discussions that develop. The more they collaborate, the more they learn. The more they learn, they more questions they formulate. Great questions lead to great scientists.

My Project

The nonfiction piece Who is Isaac Newton? will be used within our physical science unit about motion. Obviously the students will learn about Newton's Laws of Motions; however, they will gain so much more. Not only will this book benefit every student with increased literacy skills, but it will help students follow how one scientist used questioning to achieve increased knowledge.

The literacy work titled The Cay is a wonderful way to interact with earth science, specifically oceanography and topography.

Students will compare and contrast scientific information from multiple sources including The Cay.

The remaining items will help with motion labs.
