Our fourth grade classroom is filled with twenty five wonderful individuals. We come from varying backgrounds and socio-economic statuses. Like our backgrounds, we all have varying needs and interests. But, one thing we all have in common is our love for learning. Unfortunately, we do not all have access to everything we need to learn about our interests.
With the funding of this project, we will have more opportunities to learn about our hobbies and interests, which will facilitate more engagement and classroom bonding.
As a teacher, I would like to provide more chances for my students to interact with technology, hands-on manipulatives, and student-driven projects.
I have seen a true love for reading grow within many of my students this school year. They particularly love fiction books. I would love to give them a better opportunity to read various sub-genres under the fiction umbrella.
The goal of this project is to raise enough money to add over 50 fiction books to our classroom library.
This is including but not limited to: graphic novels, realistic fiction, fantasy, comedy, adventure, mystery, and more.
Additionally, I have picked out several series books. I would love for students to find an author or series they love and run with it. These series books will help to foster that.
