Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Next school year, I am switching grades. I'll be teaching twenty-four first graders. I look forward to teaching them a developmentally appropriate curriculum that blends social and emotional experiences with academic learning. I want to prepare my students for future success.
Our school's mission is to empower learners to thrive in the 21st century.
Our school serves a large population of English Language Learners with diverse backgrounds. It is a Title I school and all of the students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My Project
Fostering a love for reading is imperative in first grade. Students are beginner readers who need to practice reading books that are at their level to build their confidence and enthusiasm for reading independently.
By donating to our project, you will help our first-grade class get one hundred fiction and nonfiction readers and a Road to Reading activity center that will provide sight word practice and help them develop their reading skills.
Students will enjoy reading them again and again. They will be perfect for read to self or read to someone during our daily five. I can't wait to hear my students say, "I can read it on my own!"
