Our school is a tuition-free, innovative public charter school serving children in grades K-8. We nurture students' understanding of the world around them by providing opportunities for interactive, hands-on lessons and relevant project-based learning. A typical learning experience is full of movement and social interactions as learners work cooperatively and share their knowledge with one another.

Our school is demographically comparable to other schools around the Central Texas area and serves a substantial Title 1 population. All students in our program master the skills necessary to demonstrate social responsibility, good health, and environmental responsibility while creating and pursuing rigorous academic goals. There is a natural harmony when we come to appreciate and respect others, ourselves, and the environment we live in. By focusing on the whole child, our school benefits our whole society.
My Project
Our gardens are full of produce! This year we will have hundreds of heads of cabbage ready to be turned into sauerkraut. Students will explore the process of fermentation not only by growing the necessary veggies to make sauerkraut, but also use the fermentation crock and other fermentation tools to produce their very own homemade kimchi and various pickled veggies. What's more is that they will be able to wash all these creations down with some kambucha!
2020 will be the year of fermentation!
