Feeling Like A Misfit Isn't Any Fun At All

My students need 10 age-appropriate, fictional book titles from "Princess Hyacinth" to "Finn Throws a Fit" to teach confidence-building skills.

My first grade students sometimes feel they are from the "land of misfit toys." They struggle with reading and math concepts, and many of them struggle with low self-confidence.

Students feel like they are "misfits" when they feel different from the other kids. They want to fit in! Reading and talking about problems like fitting in, listening, and improving self-confidence allow them to gain skills that help them in the classroom and in life.

We need age-appropriate literature that relates to problem-solving, fitting in, building self-confidence, listening skills, and most importantly learning to dream big!

Children's literature is a great catalyst for sparking a discussion and enabling understanding. You will make it possible for my students to feel good about themselves!
