This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach art to a wonderful and energetic group of middle school children. My students come from a high poverty area, all of my student receive free lunch. However, that does not phase their passion for learning. I teach at a school that’s focus is on entrepreneurship and teaching students how to form their own business. They are eager to try and learn new things in my art class.
My job is to challenge my students with rigorous projects that encourages each one of their young minds to think outside of the box and solve the objective given to them.
My reward is always the smile and pride they show when they have done something they didn't think they could do!
My Project
My students are needing a space to do thier hair and make themselves feel presentable for the day. This vanity will be something extra speacil in thier little salon space that we are creating for students to feel good and empowered about themselves. When a student feels good about themselves it gets them in a "i'm ready to learn type of mood." We would love to make thier space feel like a special place that empowers them to do amazing things. Please consider helping empowering my super amazing students by providing them with this extra special item for thier student salon.
