We are a school located in Florida, near Tampa Bay, with a high poverty rate. This is a performing arts public charter school. I encourage, teach, and mentor my students through the arts.
Artsy people are unique and beautiful people to be near; they inspire others to do, think about, and become more than they already are.
I teach Earth and Space Science to 150 middle school students. My students are eclectic and artistic. They are preteens and teens full of ambition and emotions. They are sensitive, smart, sweet, and talented. Many are very humorous, and some are insecure and looking for a safe place to just be themselves.
My Project
Most of my students ride the bus for long periods of time just to get here. Many of my students are experiencing housing transitions, living with relatives, and for some homelessness.
I am requesting 125 folders for students.
I teach Earth Science and a STEM/STEAM Discovery classroom. many students do not have the funds to purchase folders for their classes.
Your donation will allow those students who cannot afford folders for their classes to have them. I am also requesting containers or book bins to keep the 6 different classes of folders together "at school". This is important for kids who are home insecure, they will know that their folders are safe and cared for in my classroom.
